REFLECTIONS OF THE JOURNEY
Lord help me live from day to day in such a self forget way that even when I kneel to pray my prayers shall be for others.
At an early age he realized he needed a church home and connected himself to Saint Mary’s AME Church, where he served on the trustee board and was a committed member. In his later years he chose to attend various churches serving the Lord in his own way.
William was a very outspoken person, and was always willing to let you know how he felt. He was also a caring person visiting the nursing homes and the homes of persons that were ill and willing to lend a helping hand where ever needed.
He was a product of Drake High School.
William was united in marriage to Martha M. Bentley; they were married for fifty years. To this union two children were born and this completed this union of love. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews, and served as a father figure. Billy as he was affectionally known was the son of the late Ailene King; she preceded him in death along with his sister Agnes.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted family that loves him dearly, (wife) Martha M. Bentley, (son) William L Bentley, (daughter) Kimberly Bentley, (grandson) Michael Bentley, (granddaughter) Teaira Burrell, (sister) Janice (Arthur) Quiller, Aunt Sara (John) Dawson, nieces nad nephews include Reginald King, Tonya Price (Chris), Erica Harris, Ny’Keria King, Reese King, Jourdain Pounds, (a special niece) Kourtney King; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law includes: Henrietta (Alton) Harris; John Albert White, John Pierce, Goddaughters; Debbie (Willie) Quiller; a host of cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
