Edward Charles Manuel was born on December 11, 1950 to the union of Rufus and Ossie Mae Manuel in Pike County, Georgia. Edward was employed by The City of Thomaston in the Waste Water Department for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing. Preceding him in death is his mother; Mrs. Ossie Mae Manuel; father; Mr. Rufus Manuel and two brothers; Mr. Robert Lee and Joe Lewis Manuel.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter; Mrs. Angela (John) Green; 2 granddaughters; Ashanti and Jasmine Holloway; 2 great grandchildren; 5 sisters; Shirley (Harris Estelle) of Thomaston; June Manuel of New York; Jane Manuel of Thomaston; Ann (Harold Kelly) Manuel of New York; Teresa (Willie James) Hollis of Thomaston; a great Aunt Mrs. Lovie Ward of New York; and a great uncle Mr. Emmitt (Pauline) Heath of Americus, Georgia; one Godchild Ms. Juanita Stinson; a host of nieces and nephews; and a devoted friend Garfon Jung.
Funeral service for Mr. Manuel was held in The Worthy Memorial Chapel located at 215 N Bethel Street, with interment to follow in the Old Mill Cemetery in Thomaston. Reverend Fred Blackmon Officiated. Final arrangements were entrusted to Burden and Worthy Funeral Home of Thomaston.
