Mr. Walter Frank Griggs 70, of 1742 Pineview Rd, Griffin, GA (Formerly of The Republic of Panama) passed away on Thursday, December 6th at The VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Griggs will be Saturday, December 15th at 11:00am at Eighth Street Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. With interment to follow in Trinity AME Church Cemetery in Durand, GA. Mr. Griggs was a Retired Veteran of The United States Army. Mr. Griggs was enlisted in the United States Army over 20 plus years. He was active with Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and traveled all the way to
33rd Shriners, Boy Scouts of America he was also a Veteran of Foreign Wars. Mr. Griggs was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Benjamin F. and Mrs. Julia Mae Bray-Griggs. He leaves to mourned his memory four (4) sons Mr. Dwayne (Dorothy) Griggs of Fresno, Tx; Mr. Walter F. Griggs, Jr and Mr. Michael David Griggs both of Michigan; and Dominic F. Griggs of Florida; one (1) daughter Ms. Nikola E. Griggs of Florida. His sisters, Mrs. Frances Kelly of Ozone Park, NY; Mrs. Frankie Smith of Birmingham; Mrs. Macie Wright of Florida and Ms. Pearl (John Moreland) Griggs of Griffin; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
