OBITUARY
Life began for Christine McGill on November 19, 1945 in Homestead, Florida to the late Mr. John R. McGill, Sr., and Mrs. Willie Ruth Johnson-McGill. She and her siblings later moved to Georgia. She received her formal education at Pike County Consolidated High School in Concord, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mr. John R. McGill, Sr., and Mrs. Willie Ruth Johnson-McGill; two sisters; Mrs. Willie Mae McGill-Guider and Mrs. Mary Ruth McGill-Nobel.
Throughout her life, Christine possessed an outgoing, fun, and outspoken personality. She was very giving and known for saying some of the funniest things. Christine never censored anything. On Monday morning, October 7, 2013, she peacefully answered God’s call and went home for her healing.
She leaves to cherish lovely memories of her four devoted children; a son Eric McGill; three daughters; Ellen McGill, Angela Gordon-McDowell and Mary H. McGill; ; one special brother, Mr. John R. (Ann) McGill, Jr., eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
A Memorial service for Christine was held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:00pm at Fuller Chapel Methodist Church in Zebulon, Georgia. Bishop D.C. Watson rendered the Eulogy. Burden’s Funeral Home, 222 S 14th Street, Griffin, GA was in charge of all professional arrangements.
